Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture

The 4th revolution in agriculture is happening, and UF/IFAS is leading the way.

Imagine if we could assess plant stress, increase crop productivity, save water, control weeds and pests, count entire groves, or detect and pick ripe fruit automatically. Artificial Intelligence (AI), can make these ideas a reality by processing more data in minutes that whole teams could do in years. Using AI advancements, UF/IFAS researchers are developing technologies to accomplish these ideas and more to revolutionize agriculture.

UF is making artificial intelligence the centerpiece of a major, long-term initiative that combines world-class research infrastructure, cutting-edge research and a transformational approach to curriculum. UF is home to the most powerful, university-owned supercomputer in the nation, according to rankings by TOP500, contributing to innovative research and education opportunities.
