York distinguished lecturer series

York distinguished lecturer series

Established in 1984 by an endowment from Dr. and Mrs. E. T. York Jr., the York Distinguished Lecturer Series brings internationally recognized leaders in agriculture and related disciplines to the University of Florida each year.

The 2026 York Distinguished Lecture will be held on November 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art.

This year’s featured speakers are Mark SubbaRao, lead of NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio, and Anna-Lisa Paul, director of UF’s Interdisciplinary Center for Biotechnology Research and professor in the UF/IFAS Department of Horticultural Sciences. Together, they will present “From pixels to plants: How space exploration helps sustain life on Earth and beyond.”

Founded in recognition of the university's contributions to the betterment of society, the series connects renowned scholars with faculty, staff and students to explore ideas and innovations that advance the public good.

More details about the 2026 event will be available soon. Until then, we invite you to watch the most recent lecture.
