UF/IFAS brings together faculty, staff, stakeholders and leaders in Gainesville and across the state to celebrate the work we do and the people we serve. Our signature events are the most visible of our events, highlighting contributions, achievements and impacts locally and globally.
The York Distinguished Lecturer Series was established in 1984 through an endowment from Dr. and Mrs. E. T. York, Jr. The annual lecturer features individuals who have achieved outstanding international distinction in agriculture or a related discipline. The establishment of the series is in recognition of the proud contribution this university has made toward the betterment of mankind.
Held in the spring, the annual Flavors of Florida is a tasting event where guests sample delicious foods and beverages made by local chefs and brewers that showcase Florida agriculture and UF/IFAS-developed varieties of strawberries, blueberries, citrus, hops, tomatoes, and more.
The UF/IFAS Dinner of Distinction recognizes alumni, friends and organizations serving as partners in the land-grant mission. Each year, UF/IFAS honors awardees for their commitment and generous contribution of resources and expertise to advance our communities, state, nation and world.
What could be more fun than a tailgate party? TailGator! A treat for the Gator Nation, this fall event features food and fun, and brings together our agricultural and life sciences community.
