The LEGACY Program is a custom-designed program for FDACS employees who have exhibited leadership potential. The program provides leadership training to mid-level managers within the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) who have been identified as future Department leaders. Established in 2014 specifically for FDACS, the program focuses on developing core skills that participants will need to become better leaders in their organizations. In this program, participants will learn the basics of leadership including crucial problem-solving, communication and networking skills that will assist them in making an impact within the department. The program relies on active participation and team-building exercises along with reading assignments and online assessments.
The LEGACY Program, which is managed by the IFAS Center for Leadership, consists of four 1-1/2 day sessions held in Gainesville and Tallahassee over a period of eight months.
