Academic Leadership Development Programs and Opportunities
The Center for Leadership brings together a number of leadership development opportunities for IFAS students, faculty and staff. Each of these programs is designed to meet the specific needs of each group and seeks to provide the best possible leadership training at the University of Florida in the fields of agriculture and natural resources.
- LEAD IFAS
A leadership training program for IFAS faculty and staff who have assumed or desire to assume leadership positions in their organizations.
- CALS Leadership Institute
Leadership development program for CALS undergraduates that provides students with valuable opportunities to gain the skills needed to become effective global leaders after graduation.
- CALS Ambassadors
Program for a select group of student speakers who represent CALS in a variety of forums and who promote awareness of food, agriculture and natural resource issues in Florida.
The University of Florida’s Department of Agricultural Education and Communication, among the country’s best in developing leaders, educators and communicators in agricultural and life sciences, offers both graduate and undergraduate degrees and certificates in leadership.
- Student Opportunities
In addition to its formal programs and degrees, UF/IFAS offers students a number of ways to get involved in projects and student activities to develop and hone their leadership skills.
